Lakewood Neighborhood Profile

The Lakewood neighborhood is on the west side of White Rock Lake. The boundaries are Mockingbird Lane on the north, White Rock Lake on the East, Gaston Avenue and the Lakewood Country Club on the South, & Abrams Road on the West. There are approximately 3,300 homes in the Lakewood neighborhood. They have an active neighborhood association with a Crime watch program, a 4th of July parade, an annual event called Lakewood stock at the Lakewood Village shopping center with local musicians, food, drink, and fun for all. Other events included the Chicken coop tour where area Urban Chicken keepers invite people to visit their property and see their feathered friends. The White Rock Artist Studio tour is held every fall with over 60 artists who invite you to their studio to view and purchase art.

It is most famous inhabitant being H.L. Hunt the oil billionaire who was at one time the “Richest man in the World.”
